Record Settings for All Cameras

Here you can specify what recording mode to use for all cameras when record button is pressed or scheduled recording starts. The settings will not affect motion recording, which is triggered and stopped by the motion detect engine. This feature is available to professional edition only.

Default Mode

In default mode, system records continuously until stopped by user or scheduled task. Video file splits on daily basis. A new video file is created each time when system clock reaches 12:00:00AM. In log analyzer, there will be one video file for each camera for one day.

Advanced Mode

Advanced mode allows you to specify the video size limit. When specified size limit is reached during recording, XtraSense starts a new file. If you selected to have XtraSense copy video files to another location, you should set the size limit according to the transfer speed. For example, 100 Mb is suitable for copying the file to network drive over 100 BaseT or Gigabit network. However, 2 Mb is recommended if you want to FTP video files to server over internet. The guide line to set size limit is to make sure the file transfer time is shorter than the video length.
