Translucent Control Panel Make configuration center semi-transparent so that it will not totally block the camera view while you are configuring the system
Password Protect Configuration Center Set a user name and password for access control of the Configuration Center. Users without password will not be able to change any system settings. You must have the check box ticked to enable access control.
Hide On-screen Buttons On-screen buttons are those control buttons (SNAP, FTP, REC and ARM) on the title bar of camera preview window.
Use Dual Monitors If checked, XtraSense will display camera preview on the first (main) monitor and visual map on the second monitor. The benefit of using dual monitor is that you can have a full view of camera and sensor locations. When alarm triggers, you immediately know where it is by referring to the visual map on second monitor.
How to check number of monitors available To find out how many outputs your computer has, you can right click on the desktop and select "Properties" on the pop-up menu. The Display Properties window will appear. To enable second monitor, select the monitor labeled "2" and tick the check box as highlighted in the picture below.
What graphics cards support dual monitor output Almost all latest laptops have built-in support for dual display. By default the first display is the laptop's LCD display. The second output is the laptop's VGA output which is used to connect external monitor. For desktops, you need to install a graphics card with dual output(i.e. Matrox G450, ), or two graphics cards if your system supports it.
Change Interface Language
Build your own language file You can use any file (i.e. default.lan) in the Lang folder of the program as a template to start building your own one. Use windows notepad to open one of .lan files, you will see something like Name=Value:
CB_NoOsb=Hide on-screen buttons (under camera preview) CB_camset_enable=Camera is enabled CB_camset_armed=Camera is armed CB_camset_ftp=Enable auto FTP uploading CB_camset_time=Display Time Stamp on Video CB_ftp_passive=Passive Mode (If your computer is behind firewall and having problem to connect) CB_net_proxy=Connect through proxy server
You can translate Value part (green portion) but never touch the Name part(red portion) and save as a new language file in the Lang folder. When you click the language list again, your newly created file will be displayed there.
Picture for Visual Map Select a picture to be used by visual map. A visual map is the picture of floor plan on top of which XtraSense will show the camera and sensor location and status. Supported picture formats are JPG, BMP, WMF, GIF, TGA etc. A default sample floor plan will be used if you leave this field blank.
