STEP 1
Before you start, please setup XmediaStorm first. You can do this by click the button circled by red line. |

STEP 2
In the 'AV Settings' page, choose the right capturing device and input port number from the list box. |

STEP 3
Choose the video format. If you choose WM9, you need to select a WM9 profile also. The quality of captured video is decided by the profile you choose. You need to specify the video and audio codec to use if you uncheck 'Record to Windows Media 9 format'. If you are not sure which codec to use, just select 'Uncompressed' for both. You only need to do Step1,2,3 once and all settings will be saved. |

STEP 4
Click the 'Connect' button to connect capturing device |

STEP 5
If the video device is ready, the LED panel will be lit up. If the connected device is DV camera, the DVC control panel will be lit up also. You will see a timer showing at 00:00:00 and current video resolution (640x480). To start recording, just hit the 'REC' button. If you want to capture from a TV tuner card, click the 'TV' button to show TV control panel and select channels. |

DONE
Once the recording started, the timer will start counting and a new item will be appended to the end of video library list. To stop recording, click the 'REC' button again. |
