STEP 3
When playing tape, click 'Mark in' clip0202 button at the picture you think best describe the content of the tape. The picture will be displayed in the LED panel indicating a successful mark in. To know the time code of current mark in position, just move mouse over mark in button and wait until the hint message pop up. You will see a message similar to 'Mark in [23:03:12]'.
To mark out, just repeat the same step as mark in and click clip0203. If you already know the time code of the position you are looking for, just key in the code and click clip0204 button. XmediaStorm will search the tape and pause at the position you specify. You will see a icon clip0205 appear on the LED panel next to the time code when searching is in progress.

STEP 4
After you mark the video section, you can click 'add to library' clip0207 button and a new item will be appended to the video library. You will be prompt to give a tape name. Please use the same name to label your DV tape.
Please note that 'add to library' clip0208 button only logically add the tape into library. In other words, it just remembers the tape name and which part of tape to start play with. The difference between this 'virtual tape' item and other real items is the clip0209 icon at the top left corner of the preview picture. When you try to play this 'virtual tape', system will prompt you to insert the tape with the correct name and automatically start playing tape from the position you mark in and stop at the position you mark out.
You can also use clip0210 button to 'physically' capture the selected section into hard disk and add to XmediaStorm video library.

DONE
To play back the virtual tape, just double click the preview picture or select the item and click button. A message window asking you to connect the DV camera will appear automatically if a DV device is not detected. You will also be prompted to insert the tape with given name if no tape is present in DV device.
